The Finnish Barbet Club (Barbet Finland ry) was formed in 2006 as a result of a meeting held by barbet enthusiasts. The aim of the club is to encourage barbet-breeders to follow the breed standard and makes it most to develop the breed and to keep the breed as high standarded as possible. The barbet club works for the people already having a barbet as well as for the dreaming fancying about a barbet. The club also encourages barbet-owners to shows and competitions.

The club is the national breed club and it belongs to the Finnish Kennelclub (Suomen Kennelliitto ry) and the Finnish Spanielclub (Suomen Spanieliliitto ry). The club also communicates with barbet-clubs abroad.
